About the role

Driftrock is hiring an Elixir Software Engineer to join our product team and help build the marketing technology powering vehicle sales for some of the world's biggest car brands. We're a fully remote team of 35, including 8 engineers. Our product runs on Elixir, Phoenix LiveView, PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ, and we're working on lead qualification, our Single Customer View and scaling our event-driven architecture as our customer base and data volumes grow.

What you'll do

Build and ship production features in Elixir and Phoenix LiveView.
Write well-tested, maintainable code using TDD, pairing and code reviews.
Work across APIs, RabbitMQ and our event-driven architecture.
Use data and observability to understand how your work performs in production.
Contribute to technical and product decisions.
Take increasing ownership as you grow, with a path towards senior.

Requirements

Solid CS fundamentals or equivalent practical experience.
Professional backend engineering experience.
Experience building for the web.
An interest in testing, TDD and maintainable code.
The ability to work independently and figure things out for yourself.
A genuine appetite for learning and improving your craft.
Good judgement when using AI-assisted development tools.
A genuine interest in functional programming (Elixir experience is welcome but not essential).

Nice to have

Experience with Elixir/Erlang/OTP, Phoenix/LiveView, Ruby or another functional language.
Experience with RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, or Redis.
Experience with Kubernetes or GCP.
